How our information is verified
Every legal or tax statement we publish is checked against official sources — the consolidated legislation of the Diário da República, the Portal das Finanças, official government portals such as AIMA and Segurança Social, and EUR-Lex for EU law. Where a claim could not be verified in those sources, we omit it or state that it is unverified.
Rules change — check the date
Portuguese tax and immigration rules change frequently, often with each year's State Budget. Every page and video carries a reference date ("Rules as of [month/year]"). Content is accurate to the best of our verification as of that date; it may be out of date by the time you read or watch it. The examples and figures we use are illustrative, not personal calculations.
Errors and corrections
Despite our verification process, errors are possible. If you spot one, tell us in the comments on the relevant video — corrections are made visibly.
